Privacy Policy

We collect the information you give us and the information needed to make the app work:

• Account details: your email address, display name, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider).
• Dog profiles: names, breeds, photos, and any details you choose to add about your dogs.
• Location data: your device location, used to find nearby parks and to power check-ins (see the Location section below).
• Activity: park check-ins, "On My Way" signals, favorites, and alarms you set.
• Social data: your friend connections and the messages you send to friends.
• Device data: push notification tokens and basic device information used to deliver alerts.
• Payment data: subscription status. Card details are handled by our payment processors and are never stored on our servers.

We use your information only to provide and improve Dog Park Social:

• To create your account and show your profile to the friends you approve.
• To find nearby parks and let you check in and coordinate visits.
• To send the notifications you have enabled, such as friend activity and park alarms.
• To manage your Premium subscription and process payments through our providers.
• To keep the service safe, diagnose problems, and improve features.

Location is central to the app, so we treat it with care. Your device location is used to search for parks near you and to enable check-ins.

Your precise location is never shared with other users. Friends can see that you have checked in to a park, but they do not see your exact coordinates. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings, though some features will be limited.

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only in these limited ways:

• With your friends: users you approve can see your check-ins, dog profiles, and "On My Way" signals.
• With non-friends: other users see only aggregate counts at a park, such as "5 dogs currently here," with no identifying details.
• With service providers: trusted companies that run parts of our service for us, listed in the next section.
• For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users and Dog Park Social.

We rely on a small set of providers, each handling data under its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase: authentication, database, file storage, and push messaging.
• Google Maps and Places: maps display and park search.
• RevenueCat: subscription management across platforms.
• Stripe: payment processing for web purchases.
• Google AdMob: advertising shown to users who are not on a Premium plan.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your information.

You stay in control of your information:

• Access and update your profile and dog details at any time in the app.
• Control which notifications you receive in Profile, then Settings, then Notifications.
• Manage who sees your activity by managing your friend list.
• Delete your account, which removes your personal data as described above.

Dog Park Social is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

Dog Park Social can be used anywhere. If you access the app from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be processed in that country. By using the app, you consent to this processing.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
